What exactly was stolen?
A former overseas contractor illegally downloaded part of our client database containing:
- Name
- Phone number and email address
- Home address
- Cleaning notes (e.g., preferred days, pet info)
- Lock-box, garage, or entry codes (only if you provided them)
- No credit-card numbers, bank information, or Social Security numbers were involved.
What should I do now?
- If we access your home via lock-box or entry codes, change them asap. And let us know the new code..
- Be alert for phishing attempts (emails, texts, or calls claiming to be Fresh Tech Maid).
- Never click unexpected links or provide passwords or payment details.
- Verify any suspicious message by calling our hotline below.
- Put suspicious email into the spam folder.
- Enjoy 30 minutes of complimentary cleaning time—automatically applied to your next visit.
Has the issue been fixed?
Yes. We have:
- Immediately revoked the former contractor’s access.
- Tightened internal data-access controls and added new security training.
- Changed how we share information with remote assistants.
- Engaged legal counsel in the Philippines to pursue the individual responsible.
- Begun an external security review to confirm our safeguards exceed industry best practice.
Will I be billed for the extra cleaning time?
Absolutely not. The 0.5-hour credit is free and automatic on your next service.
